GFW Gators Swim Meet Schedule of events

One Start Rule: Please be aware the the One Start Rule will be used at this meet, any swimmer who false starts will be disqualified.

Here are some things to keep in mind for GFW swim meet this weekend.

• Warm-up is at 9:00 with events beginning at 9:30 am. 
• Only Swimmers, Officials, Coaches and pool staff will be permitted on the deck.
• Swimming Canada warm-up competition safety procedures will be in effect at this swim meet.(https://www.swimming.ca/content/uploads/2020/08/Swimming-Canada-Competition-Warm-Up-Safety-Procedures-2020.pdf)

Parents

Parents/guardians/designates (3 max) will be permitted to enter the pool deck through the rear door prior to their child’s event. They will be ushered to the upstairs viewing area. They must exit immediately following their child’s event. Individuals with mobility issues will be accommodated

Please ensure that your swimmers are ready and in the marshalling area prior to their swims.

Hospitality: There will be hot and cold food items available for purchase outside the pool in the YMCA Daycare parking lot. Food items will include, but not limited to, hot dogs, hamburgers, nachos, chips, water, sweets, coffee, tea.

Meet booklets will be provided to families free of charge. (one per swim family) Additional booklets and highlighters will be available for purchase.

Swimmers, Deck Volunteers, & Officials will be permitted to use the inside restroom facilities in the change rooms of the YMCA. These may be accessed from the pool deck. Parents and visitors are permitted to use the YMCA guest restrooms located in the main lobby. These may be accessed through the front door of the facility.

There is no swim parking available on the YMCA premises. This will be strictly enforced, as the YMCA and adjoining rink are typically in use. Swim Meet parking will be across the street at Sprucewood Academy.

The YMCA gymnasium is available in the event of inclement weather. Spaces will be available here for teams to set up areas with tents, chairs etc….
